We have worked with Parsons for many years and this is the second version of the website and includes many new features for both staff and customers.

The Challenge

We were approached by Parsons to give the site an overhaul and to introduce some new features that had come from staff discussions and customer feedback.

The brief was to develop a new site with a refreshed design, custom content management system for managing products, eCommerce store for the sale of consumables and equipment, secure staff section for communication between the multiple stores and a blog to help with SEO and customer interaction.

After planning out the new layout and feature set with the client and their staff we had a solid plan for where we were heading and how we could grow the Parsons website to its next stage.

The result

We used the BigCMS core platform as the foundation for the project which allowed us to rapidly develop the custom features that Parsons needed, using some of our prebuilt modules and some custom developed modules we were able to get a framework up and running quickly and Parsons staff were able to start data entry of over 300 products while the rest of the site was being developed. By providing a skeleton website early on in the project we were able to avoid lengthy data entry schedules at the end of the development timeline.

Search engine rankings were very important in this project as the original site had climbed its way to the top for many highly competitive industry keywords, we further optimised the page structure and content to ensure no rankings would be lost and they would continue to grow with the new website. We spent the time during development to access and tune all aspects of the page titles, urls, structure and content to build a system that would rank high but also be very simple to manage.

The Parsons site is one of the leaders in its industry and has resulted in more enquiries and sales through increased traffic and rankings. The quality and professional image portrayed through the Parsons site attracted the attention of John Deere Australia and prompted them to ask us to come on board as an official John Deere Preferred Supplier for Web Services to their dealer network.
