Satyananda Yoga Australasia
Satyananda Yoga approached Big Click to redevelop their out-of-date website. We came up with a new design and interface which has many features to promote the vast amount of content. The website has some unique features which include an extensive CMS, ecommerce shopping cart, membership and library booking system.
The Challenge
Satyananda Yoga is the largest yoga school in Australasia. They have different yoga retreats around Australia, New Zealand and also India. Their old website was not very functional and was over 10 years old. It did not perform the functions they required. The website also had an out-of-day design and did not represent Satyananda Yoga as a professional organisation. Satyananda Yoga needed a total redesign and an online system developed that would integrate into their current internal processes. Part of the brief was to combine their member database with the website user database and build a 'members area' into the new site that would allow students to book classes and check out library items.
The Result
Big Click planned out the information architecture and functional specifications to insure we covered all options. Our design team came up with an interface which allowed for hundreds of pages to be easily accessible through an intuitive navigation system and page layout, whilst portraying a much more professional image for Satyananda. The web design uses earthy colours and has a natural feel but also has a clean and clear content structure. Part of the web design brief was to differentiate the retreat pages. We did this by changing the colour-scheme to a pallet that represents each location.
Big Click built a custom CMS to manage the vast amount of content on site. Satyananda users are able to sign up to the site and gain access to members only content and purchase products from the store. If a user is a student of Satyananda they have different website privileges including course booking, class timetable and management of checked out library items. Another important component of the website is the large directory yoga teachers. Satyananda recognised teachers are able to login an update their own account information. The CMS also allows the client to update most content across the site including the large resources section, information pages, gallery and online store.
