The Challenge

Kids Day Out (KDO) is a major event on the Central Coast, targeting young children and their families. It is a collaborative effort of a wide variety of organisations that are united in their concern for the health and welfare of our children. They needed a site to represent a fun feel which appeals to children but also have an easy to navigate interface and present important information to parents.

It was important to provide clear paths throughout the website to the specific information. The site needed to include information on sponsoring the event, the benefits of the event to the community and also have information on the performers, shows and stalls.

The Result

Big Click put together an information architecture plan and came up with a highly visual website which is appealing to children but is mainly targeting their parents. We designed a navigation system that is accessible throughout the whole site and clearly defines the different key areas. We used a animated FLash background to ad movement and colour to the site which with the interface layout really represents the day as being a fun, bright and friendly event.
